چکیده
Globally, human society faces the challenge of providing food to a growing population, at same time that effects climate change and resource depletion must be addressed. Aquaculture allows ensure safe supply different marine species is major technological biological undertaking. Taking into account in Sonora (Mexico), there are more than 200 aquaculture plants, analysis this sector implies joint harmonized assessment, considering not only life cycle assessment (LCA), but also data envelopment (DEA). This study focuses on application LCA + DEA methodology assess ecoefficiency 38 semi-intensive shrimp farms located state Sonora. results showed feed management electricity consumption main critical points almost all impact categories. Further improvement actions were evaluated, replacement wheat meal for Dried Distiller Grains with Solubles (DDGS) resulted environmental reductions ranged from 2% 57%, depending category. On other hand, installation photovoltaic panels area was looking shift towards less carbon-intensive energy production. Overall, implementation these measures will contribute increased protection efficiency.
